Packing for Miss Royalty International

Miss Royalty International is several months away, but I'm so excited to meet everyone and aam such a planner.  I like to be organized, so  I decided to make a MRI contestant packing list.  We have several people flying in from out of town, and I know it can be quite stressful.  Having an itemized packing list made ahead of time can be extra helpful and make life a LOT easier in the weeks leading up to the pageant when stress levels are at their highest.

Here is the list I compiled of helpful items to pack.  If anyone can think of anything else, please comment below.  =)

MISS ROYALTY INTERNATIONAL 2015 PACKING LIST:

Have a royal day. ;)

Currently

Hey, Miss Royalty International enthusiasts!  I wanted to inform you of what MRI is doing at the moment.  It's fun to know just what goes on in an executive director and marketing director's world! Lots of exciting things are happening.  Find out more below:

1.  We are getting contestant requests like CRAZY!  It's so surreal.  We are so excited about what our turnout is going to be next year.   Recently, we received our first international delegates; Canada and also the United Kingdom.

2.  We are keeping up with blogging (trying to at least), Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and Google+.  If you are on any of these sites, please follow us and tag us in your posts so we can find you. =) @missroyaltyintl or @missroyaltyinternational

3.  At the pageant next year, we are planning some fun things...think VIDEOS. =)  I regret not getting videos on my cellphone in the past, but who knew that videos were so hard to put up online?  Especially on Instagram.  Anyone have any ideas on how to upload videos from your phone?  If you are doing an appearance, feel free to make a video and post it on your sites so we can see!  We even love selfie videos on what you've been up to so far this year or any advice you have for future contestants!  I also love Flipgram for Instagram.

4. We are also working on our big event on November 2, 2014...THE Pageant Event.  It's being held at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Milwaukee, WI.  Attendees always have fun at this event each year, because we get to meet new people who enjoy one common thing - PAGEANTRY!!!

If that sounds like you,  THE Pageant Event is THE place for you!  There's always 150-200 people that attend, and we have a silent auction/raffle to help out a local charity.  This year, the organization is the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha, WI.  We are so excited to have received a very large ticket item from Kesslers Diamonds in Brookfield (www.kesslersdiamonds.com) for the event, and we are so grateful.  If you, your business, or any other business you know of is willing to donate, please contact Cheryl Smukowski or Michelle Becker.  Currently, we're seeking models for the fashion show, so be sure to visit www.thepageantevent.com and fill out a model application and pay for your lunch ticket!

So, that's what we are currently working on.  All of this has really kept us busy, but we've been trying to be prompt on answering your e-mails and messages.  Thank you so much for all of your support and we look forward to meeting you/seeing you at our future events. =)

We had the extreme pleasure of interviewing this lovely lady.  She is beautiful inside and out and so well-rounded.  Take a look at our exclusive interview with Amanda below:

MRI - Amanda, what do you do in your spare time?
Amanda - In my spare time, I love being around my friends and family. They always know how to make me laugh! Also I love to exercise, it's a big part of my life because I feel it's so important to have a healthy lifestyle. Lastly, I enjoy cleaning (surprisingly). I am super organized and love to organize my room!

MRI - What is your favorite hobby?
Amanda - My favorite hobby is pageants, of course! When I was young, I was super shy and pageantry really helped me open up and gain the confidence that I have today.

Amanda's crowning moment!
MRI - What did you do to prepare for the pageant?
Amanda - Lots and lots of practicing! I really do believe that practice makes perfect. I practiced my walking routines, my mom asked me interview questions at any chance she got, and I helped in selecting my competition wardrobe. It really was a fun process.
MRI - What is your advice to next year's contestants?
Amanda - For next years contestants, my advice is to have fun! Enjoy every minute of the competition because it goes by extremely quickly and will be over before you know it.
MRI - What is your favorite vacation spot?
Amanda - I love visiting Boca Raton, Florida. My family and I go there every summer and it's the best! My favorite part is going to the beach because I love being in the sun and going surfboarding with my brother, Antonio.
MRI - What is your favorite organization to volunteer for?
Amanda - I recently was named an official volunteer of the Red Cross Organization and it was such an honor. I really enjoy it because my mom volunteers with me so it's a great way for us to spend time with each other!

MRI - What is your fondest memory? Amanda - My fondest memory would definitely be when I was chosen to model for Seventeen Magazine in NYC! I was so excited and it was a great experience. I have always wanted to model for Seventeen and I was happy to finally accomplish that.

MRI - What makes the Miss Royalty International pageant different from any other pageant you've done?
Amanda - With the Miss Royalty International pageant, I felt I really was able to take something away from it. I made memories and friendships that will be with me forever and I know that it was an experience of a lifetime.

We surprised Amanda with "Happy Birthday!"

As you can see, Amanda has done so much with her title already promoting living a healthy lifestyle.  She's such a great example of teens around the world, and we are looking forward to what else her year has ahead of her!  Great job, Amanda.  Keep it up!

Spotlight on...Avery Nooyen!

Ladies and gentlemen, your new Miss Royalty Interntional Junior queen is....AVERY NOOYEN!

Get to know Avery in our exclusive interview below:

MRI - Avery, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Avery - In my spare time I like to ride horses.  I was the 1st place winner of the Wisconsin Equestrian Center horse show. I also love doing pageants, having sleepovers with my friends, playing with my cat Kalee, and singing for my tribe.

MRI - What is your favorite hobby?

Avery - My favorite hobby is horse riding because I get to see my friend Daisy. I have to practice very hard on my horse riding because I have to be good at my foot work and controlling the horse.

MRI - What did you do to prepare for the pageant?
Avery - I put a lot of effort into preparing for the pageant. I practiced with my mom 24/7 at my house and by myself in my room. Even when we were driving to Milwaukee I practiced my interview questions on the car ride down. I know I had to prepare a lot for the pageant if I wanted to be Miss Royalty International Junior.
Avery won best t-shirt in the Miss Royalty International t-shirt decorating contest!

Avery looked stunning in her hot pink formal wear gown for Miss Royalty International.

MRI - What is one piece of advice you have for next year’s contestants?

Avery - Don’t be worried. Just have fun. Do your best.

MRI - What is your favorite vacation spot?

Avery - My favorite vacation spot is Las Vegas because they have a lot of entertainment for me and my family to do.  Every time I go to Las Vegas, it is always warm there, so I never have to wear a jacket.  I also like to watch people jump off the Stratosphere.

Avery's mom, Raven, had fun jumping out of the Stratosphere in Las Vegas!

MRI - What organization is your favorite to volunteer for?
Avery - During Christmas time, I bring presents to the nursing home in Green Bay, WI, and give them to the residents.  When the residents see me, they always have a smile on their face and are surprised and very excited.

MRI - What is your fondest memory?
Avery - My fondest memory is winning my first title; Miss Milwaukee.  I had a lot of fun.  I still remember the song they played when I won; "Girl on Fire," by Alicia Keys.

MRI - What makes Miss Royalty International different from any other pageant you’ve been in?Avery - At the Miss Royalty International pageant, everyone is happy and nice, and I felt like a princess the entire time I was there.  The crown and sash are beautiful, also, with all the rhinestones on it.

Miss Royalty International Junior, Avery Nooyen.

This concludes our exclusive interview with Avery Nooyen, Miss Royalty International Junior.  As you can see, we are very blessed to have Avery representing Miss Royalty International.  She is so captivating and such an all around great role model for other girls her age.  Her personality is contagious and you can't help but smile when Avery's around.  We cannot wait to see what else Avery has in store for 2014!

Until next time, have a great day!
